The Brief: to design a piece of furniture or other product, maybe even something intended to enhance Wallace Hall.

Our Product Story
Auburn's Industrial Design Summer Op; Long hours, late nights, and lots of detailed drawings all requiring focus and precision. With all of this work comes back pain, stiffness, and strained eyes.
Our initial design was inspired by the Summer Op program at Auburn but can be adapted and integrated into all of the studios held in Wallace Hall.

Drafting desks can be rather expensive due to the materials and time used to make them. Therefore, we decided to design a table top product that fits snuggly into the existing metal frames currently found in the building. Plywood is also a good material to make a sustainable and affordable product with. Elit Vicarii allows for easy removal and interchangeability of table tops in case a repair is needed.

Elit Vicarii is an ergonomically friendly upgrade to the drafting tables located in the Wallace Hall studios. It was designed to improve the well-being of students during the many hours of work during their studio careers. Drawing for many hours every day, students would benefit from the adjustable desk angle and additional storage space.
